If history tells us anything, WWE Superstar Baron Corbin is one of the favorites to make history in the inaugural WWE 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble match.
The landmark match — within a stacked show — occurs at the 63,000-seat King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday.
Bell time is noon, streaming live on WWE Network.
Being a part of the match is historic in itself, but to win it, even better.
Of the 50 participants in the Greatest Royal Rumble, the 6-8, 285-pound Corbin knows how to survive and thrive in a battle royal setting. He won the 2016 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (eliminating Kane last) at WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas.
Corbin, a Kansas native, was runner-up in the 2018 version earlier this month in New Orleans. BTW, he again eliminated Kane during that encounter. He was also a Top 10 finalist in the 2017 Royal Rumble (this time eliminated by Kane's brother The Undertaker).
Carbin talks about those moments with legends Kane and Undertaker in the ring as well, noting another legend in the recent passing of WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino.
Quite the ride so far. Since debuting in 2012, the 33-year-old is also a former WWE United States Champ and a Money in the Bank winner.
Currently, Corbin is one of the newest members of WWE Raw (8 p.m. Mondays on USA Network), being swapped from SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shake-Up. He is looking forward to the challenges on Raw and the Greatest Royal Rumble.
The NXT alum talks Greatest Royal Rumble, kings, animals and his college football playing days.
Corbin is a former top collegiate offensive lineman who had some practice stints in the NFL. He also was a Golden Gloves boxer.
The Lone Wolf talks making the transition from pro football to pro wrestling/sports entertainment. He also discusses the NFL rule changes and the rebirth of the XFL.
