Rodriguez defeats Takayama to unify minimumweight belt

Monterrey, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - Francisco Rodriguez won a 12-round unanimous decision over Katsunari Takayama on Saturday to retain his WBO minimum weight belt and win the IBF belt.
Rodriguez (15-2 10 KOs) knocked down Takayama (27-7 10 KOs) in round three, but Takayama was able to last until the final bell.
Rodriguez won all three judges by scores of 116-111, 115-112 and 119-108.
