UM football team expect taunts from UF fans

mnavarro@MiamiHerald.com

University of Miami coach Randy Shannon said earlier this week that he knows fans in Gainesville will come up with some creative ways to try to taunt his players.

Shannon said that when he was a player at UM, Gators fans teased him and his teammates by jingling keys -- insinuating UM players were being given free cars.

Current UM receiver Khalil Jones thinks past experience will help him and his teammates be ready for whatever the fans at The Swamp come up with Saturday night.

''We've been in tough, loud places before,'' Jones said.

• Shannon said after Thursday morning's practice that he was happy with the team's overall health heading into Saturday's game. The injury report listed defensive ends Allen Bailey (chest) and Eric Moncur (leg), defensive tackle Joe Joseph (leg) and right tackle Reggie Youngblood (head) as probable.
