Riquna Williams scored 28 points, including 21 in the second half, as the Miami Hurricanes remained unbeaten with a 68-54 victory over Houston on Tuesday at BankUnited Center.

Shenise Johnson added 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Sylvia Bullock set a school record with eight blocked shots. The 5-0 start is the team's best since 2003-04, when it started 12-0.

In a tale of two halves, Miami trailed by as many as seven in the first. Houston (3-2) went ahead 27-20 on a layup by Roxana Button with 2:15 remaining.

Miami would surge back with three consecutive field goals in less than a minute to trim the deficit to one, but still trailed 29-26 at halftime.

The Canes, however, came out of the locker room with a surge, opening the second half with an 8-0 run in a span of 2:45. The Canes took a 34-29 lead, and would never trail again.

When asked what changed from the first half, Williams, more affectionately known as Bay-Bay by her teammates, said it was simple.

``Our attitude,'' she said. ``We started playing Miami basketball.''

Diane Barnes, held in check in the first half, made two field goals to give Miami its first lead since there were more than eight minutes left in the first half.

An 11-2 run gave the Canes a 48-37 lead and put the game out of reach with 11:56 remaining.

``We felt like we were overthinking the game a little bit,'' Hurricanes coach Katie Meier said of the team's first-half performance.

``We have two special scorers on our team. It was a matter of getting back to who we are.''

Lesslee Mason had 11 points and 11 rebounds and Button finished with 11 points for Houston.
