GAINESVILLE -- Expect to see Tim Tebow under center more frequently during the final month of the regular season.

The No. 1 Gators (8-0, 6-0 Southeastern Conference) debuted their I-formation package against Mississippi State and then used it again against Georgia.

As a 35-point favorite against Vanderbilt (2-7, 0-5) on Saturday, Florida could use the opportunity to further develop its latest offensive wrinkle.

Against Georgia, Florida used the I-formation late in the game. Before that, Chris Rainey rushed for a touchdown out of the I-formation against Mississippi State.

``It was something we wanted to do, and I thought we had that going Saturday,'' Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said. ``That's a terrific thing. It's growing, and I feel great about it.''

Florida's spread-option offense, which is run with Tebow in the shotgun formation, is No. 1 in the SEC in rushing yards (252.2 yards per game), but Florida's running backs welcome the chance to run a few plays every game out of the I-formation.

``I think it will give the running backs a little more time to find holes,'' running back Jeff Demps said. ``All the running backs are real excited about it.''
