Barry falls in finale

Barry closed out its women's soccer season with a disheartening 2-0 defeat against host Lynn University.

Sarah Mendelsberg of the Knights (9-8-0, 3-5-0 Sunshine State Conference) scored twice, the first coming with less than 10 minutes to go until halftime and the second on a breakaway out of the back with less than five minutes to play.

The Bucs (5-12-0, 2-6-0 SSC) outshot the Knights 7-6, But Lynn's Kelsey Butler made six saves and Amanda Romeo-Gallo swept a shot by Melissa Madrid off the line in the 72nd minute to preserve a 1-0 lead.

Emily Pratt took the loss in goal for the Bucs, making four saves.
