The halfway point of the season is here. That means it's time to fill out our midseason ballot for The Miami Herald's 2009 All-Florida college football team. This week, we reveal the midseason All-Florida offensive team. We will take a look at defense next week.

The Herald's All-Florida team is published every year around Christmas.

MIDSEASON TEAM

RT Marcus Gilbert, redshirt, UF: The anchor of the Gators' ridiculously strong right flank, Gilbert of Coral Springs has been one of the Gators' most consistent players.

RG Mike Pouncey, junior, UF: One of the best pulling guards in the business. Florida's option is unstoppable because of this guy.

C Maurkice Pouncey, junior, UF: The best lineman in the state, Maurkice Pouncey is the fulcrum of UF's rushing attack, which is second in the nation (284.6 yards per game).

LG Rodney Hudson, junior, FSU: If only FSU's defense could be as consistent as Hudson. He has been Mr. Reliable in Tallahassee for three years and deserves just as much credit for the Noles' offensive success as quarterback Christian Ponder.

LT Jason Fox, senior, UM: The Hurricanes' rock on the offensive line, Fox's leadership has inspired his fellow offensive linemen, who were the key to UM's impressive run through a difficult early stretch. Credit Fox for much of UM quarterback Jacory Harris' confidence in the pocket.

QB Harris, sophomore, UM: The Canes' heady quarterback successfully led his team through one of the most difficult four-games stretches on record to begin the season. The Miami Northwestern product is the biggest reason for UM's current No. 9 ranking in The Associated Press Top 25. Harris, who has accounted for 11 touchdowns in five games (10 passing), is ranked 17th nationally in passing efficiency (152.13) and has thrown for 1,225 yards.

RB Jeff Demps, junior, UF: The fastest player in the state, Demps has rushed for 390 yards on 44 carries and four touchdowns. His yards-per-carry average (8.9) leads the nation.

RB Javarris James, senior, UM: James leads UM with 297 rushing yards on 55 attempts and three touchdowns. The Immokalee native's 150-yard night on 15 carries against Oklahoma was a remarkable performance and should give the Canes plenty of confidence in their running game during the second half of the season.

TE Jimmy Graham, senior, UM: Three catches. Three touchdowns. That's clutch.

WR Travis Benjamin, sophomore, UM: The Canes' best deep threat, Benjamin of Belle Glade leads Miami with 234 receiving yards (46.8 ypg) and has scored two TDs. UM receivers LaRon Byrd and Leonard Hankerson are not far behind.

WR Richard Goodman, redshirt senior, FSU: A pleasant surprise for FSU fans, Goodman leads the Noles in receiving yards (355) after a relatively quiet career that has been plagued by injuries. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Goodman had five receptions for 82 yards in the Noles' loss to Miami.

ATH Tim Tebow, senior, UF: Tebow has accounted for 12 touchdowns through five games (seven passing) and leads the Gators' rush-heavy offense in carries (72 for 309 yards). After recovering from his concussion on Sept. 26, Tebow led the Gators past LSU two weeks later and tossed the game's only touchdown.

K Nick Cattoi, sophomore, UCF: Cattoi is 9 of 11 in field goal attempts and 7 of 8 in extra-point attempts.

IN THE RUNNING

South Florida redshirt freshman quarterback B.J. Daniels led the Bulls in rushing with 291 yards on 48 carries (6.1 average) with three touchdowns before Thursday night's game against Cincinnati. Most impressively, Daniels, who has accounted for nine touchdowns, defeated Florida State on the road in the first start of his career. FIU sophomore athlete T.Y. Hilton of Miami Springs leads the Panthers with 182.2 all-purpose yards per game. As a receiver Hilton leads, the Sun Belt Conference in receptions (34), receiving yards (363) and is third in touchdowns (five). Florida A&M senior quarterback Curtis Pulley ranks 22nd in the Football Championship Subdivision in passing efficiency (145.7). He has accounted for nine touchdowns (seven passing) and rushed for a team-high 81 yards in a loss to Miami. Florida junior tight end Aaron Hernandez leads the Gators in receptions (21 for 268 yards) and has two touchdowns. UM's Graig Cooper leads the Canes with 165.0 all-purpose ypg. UCF sophomore running back Brynn Harvey is averaging 107.2 ypg and has six touchdowns.
