Barry earns soccer shutout

Visiting Barry earned a 2-0 victory against Palm Beach Atlantic in men's soccer to improve its record to 5-4-1 this season.

Both of the Buccaneers goals came in the first half. Sixteen minutes into the game, Kendall Sealy struck when he and Mark Anderson had a 2-on-1 opportunity against Sailfish goalkeeper Joe Yurchak. Twenty-six minutes into the first half, the Bucs (5-4-1) struck again when Andres Perez took a corner kick. Sealy flipped it to Joao Garcia, who flicked it in.

Nova Southeastern 3, Florida Southern 0: Nova Southeastern (6-4, 1-2 Sunshine State Conference) earned its first conference win by taking down Florida Southern (1-6, 1-2). After losing on opening night, the Sharks have won five consecutive matches.

The Sharks started slow in the first half and did not take a shot until the 18th minute. They made their first shot count when Aly Hassan scored the game-winning goal. Hassan added a goal in the second half, and Darryl Gordon completed the scoring in the 61st minute.

Goalie Lyle Howe earned the shutout for Nova.
