TALLAHASSEE -- With Tropical Storm Ida heading toward the Gulf Coast late Monday, the Seminoles moved up their usual nighttime practice schedule.

Offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher said they also began implementing some of their game plan for Saturday's game at Wake Forest. On a typical Monday, the Seminoles work primarily on cleaning up their mistakes from the previous game.

But with a 100 percent chance of rain in the forecast for Tuesday, Fisher said they needed to get an early start.

``You don't know what you'll get [Tuesday],'' Fisher said.

THOMAS STEPPING UP

Sophomore tailback Jermaine Thomas, who seemed to fall out of favor with FSU's coaches earlier this season, has turned in back-to-back 100-yard games.

One week after rushing for 186 yards on 20 carries against N.C. State, Thomas gained 119 yards on 26 carries against Clemson.

``He ran with some authority,'' FSU coach Bobby Bowden said.
