Former FIU defensive back Nick Turnbull and former FIU and Dolphins receiver Chandler Williams signed free agent contracts with the Atlanta Falcons late Wednesday.

Turnbull, who was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday, joins the Falcons for the third time.

Turnbull, FIU's career interceptions leader, was with the Falcons in 2006 as an undrafted free agent. He was cut that season and signed with the Chicago Bears.

Last year, Turnbull rejoined the Falcons.

Williams, who had been on the Dolphins' practice squad until being waived April 24, was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2007 draft.

Lionell Singleton, a Golden Panthers defensive back in 2007, was extended an offer by the New Orleans Saints to participate in a minicamp May 8-10.
