Florida’s offensive line faces major depth concerns, but one massive freshman is already turning heads in camp and is creeping into the rotation among the veterans.
“He’s done everything we’ve asked of him in the weight room, in the classroom, and I’ve been very pleased to this point with his buy-in,” Muschamp said.
“He’s extremely talented, extremely smart. He’s a guy that we’re counting on to give us some help this year.”
The Gators return just six linemen with any collegiate experience and are perilously thin at the tackle position.
“Pressure makes diamonds,” junior left tackle D.J. Humphries said. “Everybody is ready to accept the pressure and turn it up and take it to the next level. David is a big kid. He’s huge. He’s going to be a good player here in the future.”
• Early in camp, the first-team offensive line is juniorD.J. Humphries
(left tackle), juniorTrip Thurman
(C) and seniorChaz Green
(RT), with seniorsTyler Moore

• The Gators will hold the first of eight open practices at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Dizney Lacrosse Stadium.
