While games against Central Florida or Florida Atlantic can swing recruiting, anybody who pays attention knows Marshall games can’t be ignored.
Led by coach Doc Holliday, the Herd is one of the more consistent harvesters of talent in areas FIU and Florida Atlantic would like to dominate among the Group of Five teams.
Marshall brought in 12 players from Florida in the 2015 signing class, five of which came from Miami-Dade County and one from Palm Beach County.
Overall, Marshall’s roster includes 26 Florida players, 13 from Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade counties. Of course, for four years, Central graduate Rakeem Cato rolled up school and NCAA passing records leading Marshall’s offense, often throwing to longtime friend Tommy Shuler.
