Maybe good fortune somewhere else in Coral Park High graduate Juwan Caesar’s life balances the wide receiver’s lack of luck with football injuries.
A foot injury cost him his freshman year at Michigan State. After transferring to FIU, he had hamstring problems in 2014, which the NCAA made him sit out anyway as a transfer even though Caesar already missed a season between Michigan State and FIU.
Now, he’ll miss at least the first two games of his one remaining season of college eligibility after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.
The conditioning portion of FIU’s Wednesday practice got cut short when lightning was reported in the area. Coach Ron Turner seemed to regard the lightning as one does in-laws overstaying a visit, understandable after three FIU games went into extended lightning delays last year.
