Classes started Monday at the University of Miami, and the Canes, now in their regular-season routine, had the day off — as they will every Monday.
“I’m actually excited about it,’’ coach Al Golden said last week when asked if starting classes could complicate the football schedule. “Get the regimen done before game week. When you have that coupled with game week it becomes very difficult, and there can be a lot of distractions in there — scheduling and everything that goes with it. So to get that done this week is great.
“They’ll be off Monday, so they can take care of … any class changes, get used to their schedule and have a good kind of game week before we get into game week.”
Canes slot receiver Braxton Berrios showed some classroom swagger when he posted the following on Twitter: “Crazy almost being halfway done with college. Crazier that I still have straight A’s to show for it. Not easy, but worth it. #BeDifferent
