With the second scrimmage of fall camp coming up on Saturday, coaches will definitely keep their eyes on the performance of the offensive line, largely considered the team’s biggest question mark entering the season.
Players themselves are looking for improvement following the first scrimmage.
“I just want to see us communicate whether we’re talking to ourselves or talking to the running backs, letting them know what to do,” said Danny Isidora, the only returning starter on the line.
Isidora, who played right guard last season, has also begun taking reps at right tackle, a spot where his experience may be a greater need.
Never miss a local story.
He added the reps in practice are not from lack of confidence in the current tackles, such as the inexperienced Sunny Odogwu, who has taken most of the first-team reps at the position, but rather the coaches looking for versatility from the linemen.
Alex Gall and Joe Brown are two others whom Isidora considers most versatile on the line.
