Starting pitchers named for Miami Hurricanes and Bethune-Cookman in regional

The University of Miami announced Tuesday that left-handed redshirt sophomore Andy Suarez (5-3, 3.22 ERA) will start against Bethune-Cookman ace Montana Durapau (11-1, 1.71) at 7 p.m. Friday in the Coral Gables Regional.
Suarez’s last start was last Wednesday in UM’s ACC tournament opener against Georgia Tech. UM lost 6-3, with Suarez getting no decision. He allowed three earned runs on nine hits and a wild pitch. He struck out five and didn’t walk anyone.
Durapau, a right-handed senior, has faced Miami three times in his career for the Wildcats (26-31) and is 2-0 against the Canes (41-17) as a starter. He beat UM 7-3 in March, allowing three runs – two earned – on nine hits and two walks in eight innings. He struck out seven.
The opening game in the regional is at 2 p.m. Friday between No. 2 seed Texas Tech (40-18) and No. 3 seed Columbia (29-18).
All-session ticket packages to the regional are $45 for general admission, $60 for chairback reserved and $90 for field box.
Single-game tickets are $15 for general admission. The $30 field-box sand $20 chairback reserved single-game tickets are expected to be sold out.
