The University of Miami is investigating whether the football program committed a secondary NCAA rule violation, athletic director Blake James said Friday night.
The possible violation involves at least one assistant football coach watching a voluntary workout in the distance just beyond the UM-Florida baseball game at Mark Light Field.
The football workout was witnessed by the media covering the baseball game. The football coach was seen by the Palm Beach Post.
“Our compliance staff will assess the situation, and if there’s a violation we’ll report it,’’ James told the Miami Herald.
