Under normal circumstances, a bye week after two games might feel like it came a little early.
But coach Jimbo Fisher is just fine with a week off after losing three defensive tackles to injury in Saturday’s 32-17 victory over The Citadel. Starters Eddie Goldman and Nile Lawrence-Stample and reserve Justin Shanks all left in the first half with what FSU called “lower leg” injuries.
FSU gave no update on their statuses after the game and, with a bye week ahead, Fisher didn’t hold his usual Monday news conference.
The top-ranked Seminoles play host to No. 24 Clemson on Sept. 20. The ACC announced Monday that the game will kick off at 8 p.m.
“With the couple of injuries we had [Saturday], I’d say it’s a pretty good thing so we can try to get guys healthy if we can,” Fisher said. “It’s not too bad. You get to regroup.”
