All is well between Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher and Jalen Ramsey. A day after publicly and passionately throwing the star defender out of an open practice, Fisher said that he and Ramsey had a great talk and that Ramsey had a great practice.
“He had an emotional thing,” Fisher said. “He got upset, I got upset. That’s ball. We move on.
“The kid is a great kid and he’s a leader on our team.”• P.J. Williams and Ronald Darby, FSU’s top two cornerbacks, each missed Monday’s practice with hamstring injuries. Fisher said neither ailment was serious, but that they would be held back longer than necessary as a precaution.
• The Seminoles will hold their first team scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon.
• Freshman receiver Travis Rudolph, a former standout at Cardinal Newman High in West Palm Beach, continues to miss practice with a foot injury sustained in the offseason. Fisher said that Rudolph’s injury was irritated, but that he hadn’t done any further damage.
Fisher said sophomore linebacker Markus Eligwe is targeting the Clemson game on Sept. 20 for his return from a Lisfranc fracture. Eligwe was expected to contend for a starting job but has yet to practice in fall camp.
