Dream bring back Latta; waive Teasley in swap of guards

The Sports Network

The Atlanta Dream signed former guard Ivory Latta and waived guard Nikki Teasley on Friday.

Latta was the starting point guard for Atlanta last year but was waived just before the start of the 2009 season. She started 31 of 34 games in 2008 and averaged 11.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists. The third-year pro from the University of North Carolina topped the club in assists and finished second in scoring.

A six-year WNBA veteran and two-time All-Star, Teasley had started all 10 games at point guard this season after sitting out the 2008 campaign following the birth of her daughter. She averaged 3.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 23.4 minutes in 2009.
