Philadelphia 76ers guard Lou Williams is expected to be sidelined eight weeks after undergoing surgery Thursday to repair a fractured jaw bone.

Williams, who had his upper and lower jaws wired together, was examined by team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy of Main Line Health and oral surgeon Alfred Wolanin.

The 23-year-old sustained the injury when he was elbowed in the face during Tuesday's game against Washington.

In 14 games this season, Williams has posted 17.4 points, 5.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
