LeBron, Kobe earn NBA weekly honors

A pair of superstars, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers forward Kobe Bryant, were named the NBA's Eastern and Western Conference players of the week, respectively, for the period ending November 22.
James posted a league-high 34.3 points per game over four games last week, as the Cavs went 3-1. His best performance in the stretch came on Friday, when he posted 40 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, a block and a steal in a win over Indiana.
Bryant led the Lakers to a 3-0 mark by averaging nearly 30 points per contest along with 6.7 rebounds and 6.7 assists. The 14-year veteran came up with a masterful game on Tuesday against Detroit, going for 40 points, five rebounds and five assists in a 13-point victory.
During Thursday's contest against Chicago, Bryant moved past Kareem-Abdul Jabbar for second on the Lakers' all-time points list (24,176), with Jerry West the franchise leader at 25,192.
Other nominees in each conference were Charlotte's Stephen Jackson, New York's Al Harrington, Orlando's Vince Carter, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, Denver's Carmelo Anthony and Houston's Luis Scola.
