Spurs' Parker, Duncan to sit

San Antonio's Tony Parker and Tim Duncan will not play Monday against Toronto because of ankle injuries.

Parker rolled his ankle in the second quarter of Friday's loss to Portland and left the game without returning. X-rays were negative, but the left ankle sprain will force him to the bench.

Duncan will sit with swelling in his left ankle, though an MRI exam revealed no structural damage.

Duncan, Parker return for Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs welcomed back forward Tim Duncan and guard Tony Parker to the starting lineup Saturday night during a 101-98 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Both players missed the previous two games with left ankle injuries. Duncan had 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Parker scored 17 as San Antonio had its two-game win streak broken.

Ginobili to miss 7-to-10 days with groin injury

Manu Ginobili underwent a Thursday afternoon MRI that showed a mild left groin strain but no structural damage, and the San Antonio Spurs guard is expected to miss 7-to-10 days.

Ginobili was hurt during the first quarter of Wednesday's game against Dallas. The veteran is averaging 14.1 points and 4.2 assists in nine games this season.

San Antonio guard Tony Parker will miss Thursday's game versus Utah because of a sprained left ankle he aggravated this past Saturday against Oklahoma City. He missed Wednesday's game and is considered day-to-day.

Chargers' Tomlinson active; Pittsburgh RB Parker inactive

San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson was listed as active for Sunday's game against Pittsburgh, but Steelers running back Willie Parker was inactive.

Tomlinson missed the previous two games due to a right ankle injury. He was hurt in the season opener, a win at Oakland September 14.

Before this season, Tomlinson had missed just one contest in his NFL career. The 5-foot-10 running back had a groin injury in January that forced him to miss the Chargers' playoff loss to the eventual Super Bowl champion Steelers.

A suddenly struggling San Antonio team hopes to get back on track Monday without star guard Tony Parker as they return to the Alamo City to face the Toronto Raptors.

The Spurs dropped their second straight game on Friday when Brandon Roy tallied a game-high 24 points, and Greg Oden held his own against Tim Duncan, as Portland led wire-to-wire in a 96-84 victory over San Antonio at the Rose Garden.

Richard Jefferson paced San Antonio with 19 points, while Manu Ginobili added 17. Duncan logged 14 points and eight boards for the Spurs, who were without Parker for the second half due to a sprained left ankle.
