The Philadelphia Phillies made three moves Wednesday, recalling left-hander Sergio Escalona from Double-A Reading, selecting the contract of first baseman Andy Tracy from Triple-A Lehigh Valley, and releasing pitcher Rodrigo Lopez.
Escalona has a record of 1-0 with a 2.84 earned run average in six games over five separate call-ups this season.
Tracy, a 35-year-old journeyman, hit .254 with 26 homers and 96 RBI for the IronPigs this season. He went hitless in two at-bats over four games for the Phils in 2008.
To make room on the roster for Tracy, Lopez was released. An eight-year veteran, Lopez was 3-1 with a 5.70 ERA in seven games (five starts) for the Phils.
