Giants star pitcher and reigning NL Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum has reportedly reached a plea agreement stemming from a drug possession charge that occurred on October 30.
Lincecum was pulled over for speeding on I-5, and the state trooper smelled marijuana and seized 3.3 grams of the drug and a pipe. He was then cited and released.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle late Friday, Lincecum has reach an agreement, which still needs to be approved by a Clark County judge, that will drop the drug possession charge and assess a $250 fine for possession of a marijuana pipe and a $122 fine for speeding.
After winning the 2008 NL Cy Young Award, Lincecum is once again a top contender for the 2009 award after going 15-7 with a 2.47 earned run average and 261 strikeouts.
