South Florida soccer fans will get yet another chance to watch international teams live this summer. Marlins Park announced Tuesday that it will host a July 23 match between AS Monaco of France and Atletico Nacional of Colombia as part of the Copa EuroAmericana tournament.
The event pits clubs from South America against clubs from Europe. Monaco is a seven-time champion of the French league and features Colombian star Radamel Falcao, who is questionable for the World Cup following knee surgery.
The summer soccer calendar kicks off with a pair of World Cup tune-up matches at Sun Life Stadium — England vs. Ecuador June 4 and England vs. Honduras, June 7. Sun Life will also be the site for the International Champions Cup final match Aug. 4. There have also been talks about a June 9 World Cup warmup between Ghana and South Korea.
