Q: I recently went for an evaluation for a "Life Style" lift. I have sleep apnea and wear a bi-pap mask with oxgen each night when I go to bed. I was advised by the staff member, not the physician that I was not a good candidate and would not be considered because of the sleep apnea. I would have to wear a band around my chin. What is this all about? I was not evaluated by the plastic surgeon.

Answered 11/20/09 12:16:59 by Dr. Carlos Wolf

A: I think that if any patient is going to have surgery they should be evaluated by a physician, You have every right to be angry. I would consider talking to yur state medical society about your situation. Although you may not be a candidate , your physician should be the one to tell you that and to tell you the reason. Good luck.

Q: my 26 year old daughter was punched in the mouth (right corner) and received appox., 15 stitches. The hospital said she will probably need plastic surgery. Can you tell me why?

Answered 11/20/09 12:13:41 by Dr. Carlos Wolf

Q: Dr.- About 2 years ago I made the stupid mistake to enhance my butt with PMMA injections. I have not had adverse effects to date, but am anxious to have it removed from my body after hearing all sorts of terrible things about this product...Can you or any of your partners help with this type of case? I am willing to travel to FL ASAP for treatment as I am very scared. Thank you.

Answered 10/20/09 10:24:45 by Dr. Carlos Wolf

A: Michelle, I would not recommend you remove this material. The surgery required may cause you more injury. The fact that you have not had any problems to date may indicate that you will not have future problems. If you would like to to talk about it you may call me at 305-595-2969. As physician we are taught to "first do no harm". That is the best advice. Good luck

Q: Hi,Dr.Wolf, I'm an old patient of yours. I hope you remember me. I referred David to you. I wanted to ask you what you would recommend for under eye circles, not dark but the sunken look. Also, for the face in certain areas around the cheeks and mid face for areas that start appearing sunken in. Are there fillers for those areas? What do you recommend? Nice seeing you again. Thanks.

Answered 10/16/09 11:23:48 by Dr. Carlos Wolf

A: Hi Gina, There are many types of fillers that can help you with what you would like to have done. Its best to come in the office to decide which one of the fillers is best for you. They range from Restylane, Perlane, and Juvederm all of which are hyaluronic acids . Sculptra is a bio active filler,(it works by stimulating your own collage to form) that works nicely for the mid-face. Other fillers include Radiesse, which is a calcium filler that can last up to one year. So , you see there are many of options. I look forward to seeing you.

Q: hello,my esthetician referred me to you and told me you were an excellent plastic surgeon and that you primarily specialize in rhinoplasty.I would also like to inquire about lip surgery.Yes lip surgery.Opposed to lip enhancement or collagen and botox injections I would like to remove a small piece of my upper lip.I have recently noticed that my upper lip is very pointed and I kind of look like a duck and I was wondering if there are any surgeries available to fix this problem. The only procedure that i know of is cleft surgery and I dont have cleft lip so i'm not sure if that would be an appropriate procedure.

Answered 10/16/09 11:18:16 by Dr. Carlos Wolf

Q: dear dr. i would like to have a breast reduction and lift, i am 28 years old and plan to have children in the future. my question is wil i be able to breast feed if i have the procedure.

Answered 09/15/09 12:27:08 by Dr. Carlos Wolf

A: The answer is yes, but here is the discussion. You should be able to breast feed because the surgery is designed to preserve the ducts leading to the nipples. One of the rislks associated with this surgery is that you may have some trouble breast feeding, but the great majority of patients have none. Good Luck
