Dr. Carlos Wolf has been working in the field of plastic surgery for more than 20 years. Although he's a facial plastic surgeon and limits his Miami practice to surgical and nonsurgical treatments of the face, he works with Dr. Brad Herman and Dr. Michael Kelly who are both plastic surgeons. Therefore, all questions pertaining to plastic surgery will be entertained. No topic will be too small (torn ear lobes) or too big (breast augmentation).

Q: I had a rhinoplasty, the surgery was the first days of June, I'm still inflammed, how much time is the inflamation going to take? When am I going to be able to see my final results? Everytime I visit my surgeon he tells me that it takes time, but he never tells me how much! I can see a change, but it's very small, and I'm not satisfied at all.

A: Your doctor is telling the truth, it does take time to see results. You should have seen more substantial results by now. It may take up to one year to see the final results. Be patient but do not hesitate to ask your surgeon questions that concern you. Thats why he"s there. If at the end you are not satisfied ask him/her what are your options. Good luck.

Q: sir, im 53 yrs old and i want to have a nose reshaping by means of collagen injections, is there any possible side effects on the long run? is collagen good for the augmentation of the nose? plz, i need your answer since you are an expert Doctor. thanks

A: It is OK to use temporary injections to augment your nose, but be careful what they inject. I would not have any permanent injections done such as silicone bio polymer and other materials as they can cause permanent problems. Be careful and check and see what they are injecting into you. Q: I'm interested in a breast reduction and tummy tuck. Do you perform breast reductions, if so how often and does this also have the benefit of lifting as well? What is the average cost of these 2 procedures?

A: I do not perform breast surgery . My partner Dr Herman does very frequently. In a breast reduction you can have a lift at the same time. Each surgery is individualized to accomplish what it is that you need. If you would like to find out the cost you can call 305-5952969 and ask for Dr Herman's cordinator.

Q: I have 2 questions regarding the eye area. #1-I'd like a permanent solution to fill in the hollows under my eyes. I get plenty of sleep and I always look tried even though I am not. I was interested in fat injections for that area but have read very mixed reviews on that procedure. #2-I have wrinkles on my eye lids very close to the lash line. So much so that I cant wear eye liner any more because its impossible to get a straight line due the deep wrinkles. Are there any treatments for this? I appreciate your time and opinion. Thank you.

A: 1. Fat injections are permanent but may be tricky around the eyes. I have found that fat injections around the eyes may be irregular and may require more than one operation. It is for this reason that I am not a big fan of fat injections in that particular area. 2. You may want to consider laser treatment or thermage. Make sure your doctor is very experieinced as this area is very delicate. Good luck,

A: I am sorry you have not heard from me sooner. I am not a fan of any permanent injectable soultions ino any part of the body. i think it is fraught with complications and I would be very cautious before doing such a procedure. In other words I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT

A: Felicitades de dar luz! Los tipos de implantes y las opciones de cirugia son muchas veces excusivo de cada doctor. Debes de tener minimo 2 consultas para ver wue te recomendan. Los costos tambien son muy diferente entre doctor y doctor. Si quiere idea puedes llamar a mi oficina para que te den idea. Llame al 305-595-2969. Q: Hello, I am an African American female, 5'6", 143lbs, and a 40" hip/butt. No matter how much I diet and excercise I realize that I cannot reduce the size of my butt in respect to its proportion to the rest of my body. I have long since considered plastic surgery but the sugeons that I have received consults from have expressed a reluctance to altering "cultural" attributes". Am I stuck with my shape or should I just keep looking for a surgeon? Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

A: I believe that the consults you have had a probably conservative, and rightfully so. Buttocks reduction is an operation that is not commonly done and can cause significant scarring. I am not aware of anyone that is an expert on this type of procedure. Most people want the opposite effect. If someone is quick to do your surgery I would be careful as it might cause you more harm than good.

Q: 1 1/2 ago i had upper and lower eye lift, because i had a lot of puffiness under my eyes.. and i thought it was fat, the dr.said that i didt have any fat he just removed excess skin. but the puffiness didt go away. i would like to know what can be causing these? Thank You..

A: Based on what you are telling me you probably did have fat and it was not taken out. It can happen that what appears as fat is not actually fat but that is the exception. i would go back to your doctor and if he does not give you satisfactory response I would get a second opinion.

Q: Hi, In 1973 I had a vertical C-Section, 18 months later a horizontal one. In the late 80's I had a Tummy Tuck to remove a hernia and old scar tissue. Twenty years & 20 pounds later, I've had irritation in the lower scar area. Is it possible to remove the scars completely? If so, I have no insurance; how costly would procedure be? And what would be my downtime? What do you recommend? Thank you for this forum!

Q: Dr. Wolf I got a mole removed from my face one month ago, and I still have a scar. The mole was located in between my eyes so I'm afraid it will not go away completely. I would like to know if there is a procedure that can be done in order to remove the scar completely. Thank You

A: I would have to see the scar before I can tell you that. If you want to send a photo I can look at it.(cwolf@miamiplasticsurgery.com) Make sure you put sunscreen and if possible avoid the sum . I would also recommend you see your surgeon to see what is their suggestion is. Good Luck

Q: hi dear doctor, i have done lip injection in 2002 in russia,doctor said it is collagen injection,after wile it became bumpy.,and i had facial with some japanies machin,and it has ultrafiolet lights,and ultra farez.after i notice a litlle bit reduction,and ducky look has a bit reduced.could you tell me what kind of filler it was,as a doctor who has done keeps telling me it was colagen and dont remeber.and is it possible to dissolve it? please help me with unswear.thank you very much.parvin

A: Debes de ver un especialista de senos. Es posible que las hormonas le esta haciendo eso. Despues que pare cresiendo se puede operar. Primero se debe ver para estar seguro que ne es nada malo. Saludes.
