Q: Hey Coach! In tonight's TNA iMPACT Kevin Nash was asked about Hulk Hogan and hinted that there might be a third party in their dealings. That's how the nWo started and I'm wondering if that was a hint that the NEW WORLD ORDER might be making a comeback. What do you think? nWo 4444 Life! 4 Life!!!
Answered 11/19/09 23:52:26 by Jim Varsallone
A: I think there are many ideas formulating, and hints will be at a permium to keep people interested. What will he do? nWo? The Hulkster? Terry?Submitted by Anonymous from Commerce, Texas
Q: Jim - What was your take of Piper's appearence on Raw? I know Vince is the boss, so is there legit heat between the two - the way Vince talked to Piper and he just had to stand there almost looking like he was Frank Williams. Then to have Randy Orton mop the floor with him... It was pretty disappointing...
Answered 11/19/09 23:50:44 by Jim Varsallone
A: Good Frankie Williams reference by you. Piper can't do too much anymore in the ring. The hip replacement. The knees. The health. I like and respect Mr. Piper, but I would rather see a couple of legends take over the show together than just one. Randy Orton is the legend killer, and his dad Cowboy Bob Orton Jr. worked with Piper. So I guess that was the thought process.Submitted by richard from miami,fl
Q: do you think dx will be no more after sunday because i know hbk and the game want the belt
Answered 11/19/09 19:18:52 by Jim Varsallone
A: I don't know, but I think that would be a good way to end it for now. I think WWE can get more mileage from DX by ending it and then reuniting them for a big event or big tour in several months. WWE got a lot of mileage from DX already.Submitted by richard from miami,fl
Q: do you think kurt will come back to the wwe
Answered 11/18/09 19:19:02 by Jim Varsallone
A: I don't know. It's a guessing game. He has it good at TNA. The money is more in WWE, but does he want to work that schedule. Never say never in pro wrestling/sports entertainment.Submitted by Connor from Weston Fl
Q: Hi Jim, Love your stuff. I also wanted to comment on the Ulitmate Warrior as well. Isnt he the first wrestler to ever sue Vince over his character and win? I also saw Jim Helwig at an event in New York and he said he finally left for good when he was unable to attend a show due to his fathers death and was told show up or else. He didnt and we know that he never came back to the WWE. He wasnt the best wrestler but I thought he was one of the biggest stars they had. I took my kids many times to see him and thought when his music came on the crowd became alive. I loved his feud with Macho Man and I think that Vince has always been on the search for the next UW. I cant see Helwig accepting the Hall of Fame even if he is offered it. Has he ever been offered a shot at guest host of Raw??? Thanks Jim, for all the great info you post and answering all our questions. Oh one last thing do you think that DX will ever add a 3rd person? Could they possibly add Cena?
Answered 11/16/09 01:50:58 by Jim Varsallone
A: I don't think DX will add Cena. The DX reunion was supposed to be short lived upon its initial return, but with merchandising sales and all, it has become DX re-reunion III. I never met Warrior. I read a lot about him. He legally changed his name to Warrior. He beats to his own drum. I don't know what to believe sometimes. Like I said, the only high-profile wrestler I can recall sticking to his guns, so to speak, when it comes to the dislike of Mr. Mcmahon, is Living Legend Bruno Sammartino. I'm sure if there is any ill will between Mr. McMahon and Warrior it can be worked out. About 10 years ago, Warrior did win a court battle over Mr. McMahon and WWE so he could use the name and gimmick. For what it's worth, in October, Warrior was added to the WWE Alumni section of the company's website.Submitted by Jimmy L from Lawton,Ok
Q: Jim, I recently read that Brock Lesnar is sick, and the UFC is keeping it "hush-hush," and also read that Dana White is looking to get Lesnar into the Mayo Clinic? What seems to be going on with this, and did Shane McMahon meet with UFC officials?
Answered 11/16/09 00:28:31 by Jim Varsallone
A: I read that about Brock Lesnar. I got a transcript of a Dana White press conference where he said it was not cancer nor AIDS. There is a report that Shame McMahon met with Dana White and only those in the room know what was discussed. In the past, the McMahons discussed MMA and I believe pro wrestling/sports entertainment with outspoken Dallas Mavs owner Mark Cuban, who owns the new HDNet TV and HDNet Fights which includes MMA and Rong of Honor. Shane McMahon is also good friends with boxer/businessman Floyd Money Mayweather. UFC with Dana White is the only MMA group really succeeding. I really don't think Shane McMahon would go work for Dana White but rather pitch an idea to him - maybe incorporating boxing through Mayweather and/or pro wrestling through the McMahons with MMA. Shane McMahon could form his own MMA company or a feeder group to Dana White. With only one, there is room for another. Just like with WWE and at this point TNA. MMA pay-per-view buy rates are doing better than pro wrestling/sports entertainment. In Japan, there have been shows with some MMA and some pro wrestling. I often wondered when someone in the United States would try that. I figure with TNA woring with Bobby Lashley and Tara (WWE's Victoria) and in the past MMA standout/pro wrestler Ken Shamrock, TNA was going to be the one to try a mixed show. Well, in discussing Shane McMahon's apparent meeting with Dana White, I just want you to know meetings like this happen constantly. It usually does not go very far, but maybe this one will. Shane McMahon is still with WWE until the end of the year.Submitted by Kevin from Coral Springs Fl
Q: Hey Jim, I have read that in next years WWE Hall of Fame ceremony we may see the Ultimate Warrior inducted. Dont you think that has a very small chance of happening given to the long feud between the UW and Mcmahon? I have read on Warriors web site how he hates him and would never do anything again with WWE. He did make an in ring appearance not too long ago and he looked in awesome shape. I just cant see them adding him in despite his popularity and he did make a ton of cash for them. I read from Meltzer that when the UW came back to Nitro that was there highest rated show ever. So unless you have heard different I cant see McMahon letting Mr Helwig in.
Answered 11/14/09 00:08:21 by Jim Varsallone
A: That's being said because Warrior lives in Arizona where WrestleMania will occur. If Mr. Mcmahon thinks it will help ticket sales and ratings, do not put it past that businessman to add the Warrior to the Hall of Fame list. It would probably come down to money. How much does the Warrior want to be inducted? Could you imagine Michael Jordan telling the NBA he wants X amount of dollars to be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame? As for disliking sdomsone, I can only think of one very high profile wrestler who remained passionate for his disdain toward Mr. McMahon, and that's Living Legend Bruno Sammartino. I was not there. I do not know anything about it except for what I've read or heard in interviews with him, but I still don't get part of it. I mean I know you can dislike your boss, and how many folks don't like their boss, but to say that an owner should take care of those employees after their finished with the company, I just don't know how many owners of any business do that. You want it better in wrestling for those who retire, so to speak? Well, there is no union. That should be the uproar, and the wrestlers are the ones to blame for that.Submitted by Stuart from Pembroke Pines
Q: Hi Jim, Did you hear anything about Ray needing surgery? I wonder if that's why him & Batista have that match. Batista made Ray sign a conract saying whatever he does to Ray, Batista won't be blamed
Answered 11/13/09 23:58:20 by Jim Varsallone
A: I'm sure if Rey needs to take time off for surgery or rest, WWE will work it into the storyline.Submitted by bu from india
Q: most experts seem to predict that hbk should have one more wwe title run before its over but as more and more time passes by this thought doesnt seem realistic.i personally feel that if it has to happen it has to happen between now to wm26 because after that i dont think it will happen anymore.it is known universally that hbk is reluctant to have the title fulltime anylonger because of his body, family etc but is even a short wwe title reign in future out of the cards?die hard hbk fans like me would love it to no end seeing shawn have the title one last time allbeit for a short reign.your thoughts.
Answered 11/11/09 01:38:34 by Jim Varsallone
A: If HBK wins the title again, that's good, but as you wrote, it takes two to tango. Mr. McMahon has to approve it, and HBK has to want it. HBK has a Hall of Fame career, and he does not need another title run to validate what he has done in the business.Submitted by Terrance from Miramar Fl, 33023
Q: Why did TNA break up the main event mafia? they was going so well. Also, what happened to scott steiner? Is TNA going to fire him.
Answered 11/11/09 01:04:17 by Jim Varsallone
A: If the information is accurate, Booker T is no longer with TNA, and Hulk Hogan is. I don't know if that's just Internet fodder concerning Scott Steiner. I could have seen Hogan trying to take charge of the Main Event Mafia, but with the creative team changes, they've decided to go another direction.Submitted by Stuart from Pembroke Pines
Q: I read on one of the Websites that Cade resigned with WWE. I think he's with Ohio Wrestling or working Florida, Not sure though. And Murdock is in one of the Independent leauges,Jim any word on the STATUS WITH Booker T I also heard that TNA are getting fed up with Steiner. Anymore info? Thanks
Answered 11/10/09 01:28:07 by Jim Varsallone
A: Lance Cade is working in Florida Championship Wrestling, the feeder group to WWE. He was trained by Shawn Michaels, and JR speaks very highly of Cade on his report. Good he gets a second chance. Murdoch is working for TNA and the indies. I still wonder if this a Vince Russo "is it real or not" with Booker T. We shall see. I'm just not comfortable with the Internet im-posters and sheeters and blobbers with all this information. How can a company be fed up with someone when some people making decisions have just changed.Submitted by john from covington,ga

Q: hey jim 2 questions: 1. what's tna's scheduling like? and 2. with some of the tag team talent that are no longer in wwe(london & kendrick, lance cade) you think they'll resurface in tna (with cade reuniting with murdoch)? i'd love to see that happening.
Answered 11/09/09 01:16:25 by Jim Varsallone
A: TNA has a monthly PPV, and the company takes about four days each month (two consecutive days, twice monthly) to tape the TNA iMPACT shows. They do not charge when taping TNA iMPACT or showing a live PPV at Universal Studios Orlando. That is the best bang for no buck. They run some house shows (no TV) each month and the company does some international touring. It's busy, but TNA does not have the hectic WWE travel sked. If guys in WWE, who were not big time main eventers, go to TNA, I'd rather see them try another gimmick. Like Elijah Burke becoming The Pope DeAngelo Dinero. Brian Kendrick, I like him. I think he can talk and wrestle. He reminds me somewhat of a younger Y2J Chris Jericho.Submitted by Steve from Boston, MA
Q: WWE announces WM PPV increases from %49.95 to $54.95 and ALL other PPVs going from $39.95 to $44.95 (+ 12% increase). As we've argued about this for quite awhile, with WWE now trying to be more about pop culture friendly to expand audiences, and less to the tradtional wrestling fan -- do you think the market the WWE is trying to tap into (casual, family oriented who buy DX glow sticks and actually enjoy Hornswoggle),will pony up now $45/month for ppv? If the goal is to expand into this non-tradtional markets by using the likes of Sharon Osborne & NASCAR drives as hosts, how do you accomplish that by rasing PPV prices in this economy? I would think you'd go the other way, perhaps an upcoming PPV for $19.95 to get someone to buy a PPV who normally wouldn't. I'm sure you'll give me something about WWE stock & the recent earnings report, but this monthly ppv increases of +12% will cause a significant drop in future ppv buys.
Answered 11/09/09 01:10:31 by Jim Varsallone
A: Again, something is worth what people will pay. WWE had a pretty good quarter, just announced, as far as making money. They did drop in PPV buys from the previous year's quarter but still made money on PPVs in the quarter. You have to understand, whether you like or not, the fact remains even when it's written by the negative posters and dirt sheeters that WWE PPV buys decreased, that does not mean the company did not make money off PPVs. The posters and sheeters don't tell you that. They don't give you the full picture. They say "WWE is going down. The PPV buys from last year's quarter dropped." Well, that is true about the PPV buys but not the full story, and then people can't understand why a company like that increases its PPV pricing, after reading these posters and sheeters. WWE probably feels fans who are still watching will pay the additional $5, and that will help offset the decrease in PPV buys. Do I think it will work? I don't know. I'm just trying to give you the full picture. I do know that decreasing the price when you are making money on something is not really smart business. If WWE was not making money on PPVs, then I could see a price drop. The number of PPV buys has decreased, but still the amount of PPV buys is making WWE money. There will not be a price increase in the WrestleMania PPV. Here's my final take on the price increase. If someone is upset about it, then don't buy it. If enough consumers don't buy something, then that's when the owners will do something about it, like decreasing pricing. Like the Yankees did with the special seating section in its new stadium. Per se, owners don't care if people complain. Complaining does not effect the wallet. Action does. Right now there are still plenty of people buying WWE PPVs.Submitted by bu from india
Q: how long do you think dx will remain united in lead up to rumble and mania? what do you foresee happening in the triple threat main event in survivor series?
Answered 11/06/09 22:16:02 by Jim Varsallone
A: DX will remain united as long as they keep making the company (and themselves) money. How many times has DX ended and then returned? It helps HBK who is older and the body wears down. Fans continue to buy the DX stuff. So it's hard to end something that makes money. I think Cena somehow retains because Triple H and HBK keep pushing each other off Cena. We'll see.
