Q: Saw you Heat column from last night. What do you think their final record will be?

Answered 02/08/12 13:17:17 by Greg Cote

A: Randy, my only definite prediction is that if they keep wearing those hideous Floridians uniforms I might projectile-vomit. What are they, 19-6? Something around 51-15 sounds about right. Record matters little. Top seed matters a lot.

Q: What do you make of all this talk about Brady's wife? Do people in the patriots organization even care?

Answered 02/08/12 13:14:57 by Greg Cote

A: Dan, no they don't care. She didn't single anybody out and even if she had, Welker admitted to all he thinks he should have caught that all-important pass. The only apology owed here is by the eavesdropper with the cell phone who sold that snippet of private conversation to TMZ. This was a non news story that the media (I'm talkin to you, NY tabloids) shot up with steroids.

Q: The first thing that jumped out at me from this year's Hall of Fame class was this -- six inductees, zero championships. None. Nada. Zip. Do you find this weird? I know that, especially in football, that one man alone doesn't win a championship, but with all the preaching from players, coaches and fans alike that "all that matters is winning!!!!", shouldn't jewelry be a requirement? Everyone's making a big fuss about Andre Reed, Cris Carter and Tim Brown being left out again, and I don't see any championship rings on their fingers, either. In the end, aren't we just rewarding individual accomplishments over the ultimate team goal, despite the fact that we always preach to the contrary?

Answered 02/08/12 13:12:38 by Greg Cote

A: Masked, I think the "ring" issue is close to a non-factor with the Hall, which is big on individual stats and how dominant a guy was in his time. The "ring" thing is more a topic to chew for media pondering a player's legacy and place in history. Also QBs seem to be the only position that gets unduly rewarded for rings and unduly docked for the absence of them.

Q: Wes Welker -- once a Dudphin, always a Dudphin, right? Nice drop. That's what you get for being an arrogant jerk to me on the LeBatard show.

Answered 02/08/12 13:09:59 by Greg Cote

A: Stu, Stu, I was actually alarmed to agree with you on a couple points. Promise never to do it again!

Q: Even for a knee-jerker such as myself, the knee-jerking following the Super Bowl is getting out of hand. On Monday, Amani Toomer said that, as of right now, with two straight Super Bowl losses, that Tom Brady is a BORDERLINE Hall of Famer. Borderline! Now, I hate Brady and Belicheat and all things Patriots, but... really? Tom Brady is now borderline for Canton? We, as a sports society, have officially lost our minds, no?

Answered 02/08/12 13:08:33 by Greg Cote

A: Todd, yes I would say that we as a sports society absolutely HAVE lost our minds! Tom Brady's next 500 passes could fall incomplete and he'd be a first-ballot Hall of Famer with no discussion needed. Also loved the gross overreaction to what Brady's wife Giselle said. Good gawd, people!

Q: Hi, Florida Panthers! Welcome back! We missed you! We kept your room clean and your bed made for you! You'll find everything just the way you left it the last dozen or so years!

Answered 02/08/12 13:06:27 by Greg Cote

A: Ninth, that's a big OUCH, although the sarcasm is earned. Looking like FLA must win the Southeast or likely see its playoff drought continue, and I didn't need last night to tell me the Wash Caps are a better squad.

Q: question: football game referees when they announ penalty, they always look up and to oneside of football field. why and who were they looking at? it does not seem they looking at the camera ,look like they looking at somebody sit next or close to the camera. thanks.

Answered 02/08/12 13:04:35 by Greg Cote

A: OK let's get rolling. Mike, I think most of the referees are convicted felons on the lam and are giving it a quick glance to make sure The Law isn't hoofing onto the field to apprehend them while they are distracted making their calls. Although I may be wrong.

Q: Hello 2-8-12'ers. Greg here. Starting right at 1 and the Question Window is now open. Back after a week's absence and looking for a better response than last time we did it.

Answered 02/08/12 12:58:56 by Greg Cote

A: Today's lunch: Cobb salad. Thanks, Ty.

Q: The Wednesday live chat for 2-1-12 did not occur because of scheduling conflicts related to National Signing Day and my column duties. We'll be back on 2-8-12.

Answered 02/03/12 15:18:20 by Greg Cote

A: Thanks for your understanding. You are a wonderful person. I mean it.

Q: Time bell rings for 1-25-12. Shutting it down early today. Might try it again next Wednesday, stay tuned.

Answered 01/25/12 13:31:18 by Greg Cote

A: This weekly chat thing is getting ponderous, to be frank. If y'all don't care it seems dumb that I would. Keep checking out my blog, though. The intense interest in that IS appreciated. Ciao.

Q: Hullo? (Echo...) Two or three questions in 20 minutes!? We'll shut this down at 1:30 unless the Q's start rolling.

Answered 01/25/12 13:24:37 by Greg Cote

A: If feel like Dad in the station wagon threatening to turn this car around if the kids don't behave.

Q: Slow in here today. Crickets.

Answered 01/25/12 13:18:15 by Greg Cote

A: This reminds me of when I'm on with Le Batard on 790 and they leave me to fill dead air with improv. I think you all are out there, just pretending not to be.

Q: Your best guess on what Dolphins do at quarterback!

Answered 01/25/12 13:07:49 by Greg Cote

A: Best guess is they sign peyton Manning if they can or go after Matt Flynn hard. I think sticking with Matt Moore or trading up for Robert Griffin are less likely and I don't see a great other option right now.

Q: Fives gamne in a row now for D.Wade. Do you think the Heat will tell him to tone down his game for less injuries?

Answered 01/25/12 13:04:07 by Greg Cote

A: OK let's roll! Jeremy, yeah five in a row with the ankle and eight total this season in games missed. That's a concern, another reminder Wade is 30 now. You can't change his game. But I do think you limit his minutes some because with this team it's all about full strength entering the playoffs.

Q: Hello 1-25-12 people. Greg here. Starting right at 1 so get those questions, comments and so forth in now.

Answered 01/25/12 12:55:46 by Greg Cote

A: Today's lunch: Bun-less hamburger patty smothered in grilled onion and sliced jalapeno.

Q: Time bell chimes for 1-18-12. Thanks to all. We'll do it again next Wednesday same time same channel.

Answered 01/18/12 14:06:24 by Greg Cote

A: Meantime frequent my blog and join us on Twitter @gregcote. Ciao!

Q: OK the macrame hanging-plant holder is now completed and I am presently knitting a vest.

Answered 01/18/12 13:46:50 by Greg Cote

A: Thinking it would make a nice (if tardy) birthday gift for Dwyane Wade...

Q: Slow in here today. I think those who sent in all the questions that got erased in my reboot have gone stomping out of the chat room in a mighty huff.

Answered 01/18/12 13:41:07 by Greg Cote

A: It's OK. I'll amuse myself. I'll be crocheting a macrame hanging-plant holder like existed in the '70s.

Q: What do you think of the Marlins trying to bring back leo Nunez?

Answered 01/18/12 13:34:11 by Greg Cote

A: Manuel, I think $6 million is a lot of money to offer Juan Carlos Oviedo, the pitcher formerly known as Leo Nunez. I also think his legal issues complicate whether he'll ever pitch here again. I don;t care what the guys call himself, I just wish we could call him a better closer.

Q: It is halftime of today's chat...

Answered 01/18/12 13:29:47 by Greg Cote

A: Back in 13 seconds.
