Q: I was wondering why did you guys take out fiu cheerleading ? I dont think its right if your going to take out cheerleading you take out other activities like dance why is it just cheerleading that gets taken out ? I was planning on attending your school but whats the point with no cheerleaders i was really looking forward to cheer for fiu cheer and now i cant.

Answered 07/02/09 16:26:50 by George Richards

A: I agree Christina, it sucks. Maybe you could play in FIU's marching band. Oh wait, they cut that out too...

Q: Watching the playoffs, everyone seemed to concede the game's best two players are Alex Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby. Personally, I think Evgeni Malkin is more well-rounded than both, as he offers almost as much offensively and much more defensively. Your thoughts?

Answered 07/02/09 16:26:06 by George Richards

A: I love Malkin's game...hard to argue with the other two though...we're lucky to have three such great players who haven't reached their peak yet.

Q: Hi George: I've been impressed with the job Randy Sexton has been doing since filling in for JM. I think he made the most of the Bo situation and the draft and the FA's he picked up/resigned were resourceful as well especially considering the ownership situation. I don't think Mr. Torrey will make hime the GM, but I hope he will stay on with the organization and not get snatched up by another team. I'd be anxious to hear your take on the job he's done filling in and his future with the franchise. Thanks.

Answered 07/02/09 16:25:30 by George Richards

A: He has made some good moves, but there is a lot of money still there for him to spend (I think) so lets see what he does with it...

Q: THIS YEAR'S NHL ENTRY DRAFT IS IN MONTREAL NOT TORONTO!!!

Answered 07/02/09 16:24:56 by George Richards

A: who said it was in Toronto?

Q: Wow, and you thought this was going to be another boring offseason for the Panthers. I don't know if the news of the impending sale of the team is good or not. What are your thoughts? Is this a good thing or yet another bad thing for a franchise that can't afford anymore bad things happening to it?

Answered 06/03/09 11:49:45 by George Richards

A: We have to wait and see what's going on with this ownership change and see who is going to be taking control of things..,

Q: Well let's compare George.....Since the end of the season go through the personnel that have left or been jetisoned or will be gone when the season starts again....Martin, Zednik, Peltonen, Potvin, Boyton, JayBow, Mclean(can't see them keeping him). And there are probably more that I've missed. Now, who have we added? And why would anyone want to come here? I know I sound negative, but how many times can we go through getting our hearts ripped out and crushed before we either don't believe anymore, or worse, don't care?

Answered 06/02/09 09:38:21 by George Richards

A: Better to be mad than to not care...

Q: George, Boynton will probably not be back, but I feel he was a good addition to the defense with his grit. Will coach Pete over look there differences? What about Bryan Allen can he still play ?

Answered 06/01/09 18:56:23 by George Richards

A: Bryan Allen says his knee is all good so him coming back healthy should be a big boost...

Q: Wow, can you say rats deserting a sinking ship? Think maybe Deboer wishes he'd taken the Ottawa job instead? What else can go wrong with this team? And right before the draft too? Thanks Jacques for nothing!!! PI**ED OFF FAN!!!!

Answered 06/01/09 18:55:45 by George Richards

A: Yeah, because Ottawa is in such great shape...

Q: George, if you were J.M the G.M. for the moment, would you think about...given the recent play of Anderson and having promising kids like Markstrom and Shantz in the system....trading Vokoun? If so, the first team that seems to come to mind(for me, anyway) is Colorado. Perhaps for a high draft pick, or a player like Hejduk or Smyth? Thoughts?

Answered 05/14/09 15:14:33 by George Richards

A: Colorado would have the money to take on such a salary, but we have to see...the Panthers like Tomas for obvious reasons...they probably would like to save some money at the position, but that contract is signed...

Q: One questions: are we ever going to see this team in the playoffs again?

Answered 05/14/09 15:13:28 by George Richards

A: the heat?

Q: Okay George, this sucks! They are getting rid of Potvin?!?!?!?!? I swear, we are headed down the road to oblivion with this team. One of the few halmarks of the team, one of the few faces we could identify with and they let him go because, GOD FORBID he would like to spend time with his family in Quebec, you know...where he's from!!!!! JEEZ!!!!! If I had not already renewed my tickets I'd be done with this team. If they want to save money they could release the current players on the team and sign me to play for them. I'll suck too and cost a lot less. What do you think?

Answered 05/14/09 15:13:03 by George Richards

A: the panthers are happy you renewed...

Q: i've liked the idea in the past of signing our young core to long term deals, but with bouw possibly(most definetly) leaving. do you agree it's extremely important for the panthers to make a big splash in free agency?

Answered 05/14/09 15:12:30 by George Richards

A: they are going to have the money...not a whole lot of options out there, but there will be guys willing to come down here...just have to wait and see what happens as the draft/jay trade situation comes closer

Q: George, What's the word on the return of Jacque Martin? McCabe for Van Ryn worked out well; and Jokinen for Boynton and Ballard did too. But the trade deadline activity was a joke. Eminger for Welch? Traded 1 scratch for another scratch. No move on Jay Bo and now we are left with nothing. Was this his decision? Alan Cohen's decision?

Answered 05/01/09 22:10:01 by George Richards

A: It was everyone's decision...JM didn't get an offer that he thought would be good enough to replace a JayBo on a playoff (at that time) team..then they go out and lose 8 of 10...hard to blame jacques for that...that said, JM is safe as a bug in a rug...

Q: George, what is Anthony Stewart's future with the Panthers? Is he marginal or does he have the skills to move up to the third line?

Answered 05/01/09 22:08:53 by George Richards

A: He worked real hard this offseason and had a real good camp..that said, he was expendable during the season although he did show flashes. I think the heat, err, panthers, should give him another year...still a young guy, has some upside...

Q: What if rangers and panthers will have equal points total at the end of season - which team will make playoffs ?

Answered 04/03/09 15:00:21 by George Richards

A: right now, rangers have more wins, so if they were tied, rangers win the tiebreaker

Q: Do you think Jacques regrets not getting some offensive help at the trade deadline? Do you think Anderson needs to start in net? Do you think Jacques regrets not trading JayBo? Have you signed the team up with UNOS (United Network for Organ Sharing) for a joint heart transplant? Have I asked enough questions this time?

Answered 03/26/09 18:42:45 by George Richards

A: yes; yes; yes; no; plenty.

Q: George, can you tell, what music guys prefere, something a la Cannibal corpse ?

Answered 03/26/09 18:42:09 by George Richards

A: Pretty diverse group. They listen to just about everything in the room, although I haven't heard much country this season. Lot of classic rock, Euro dance mix, some hip hop, some 80s pop schmaltz...

Q: Thanks for your response. Do you have any more words of wisdom?

Answered 03/26/09 12:34:38 by George Richards

A: No. PS: Did you ask me a question? I was just letting you vent..

Q: Do you think the Panthers will resign Steve Eminger next year? Even if Bouwmeester decides to stick around?

Answered 03/26/09 11:15:20 by George Richards

A: IF bo decides to stick around? that horse has left the barn, he's gone...not sure about eminger...money will be an issue on that one...

Q: George, given The Cats performance in the last few "must win" games, is there ANYTHING to suggest that...even if they're fortunate enough to stumble into a playoff spot...they won't be bounced out of the 1st round in four straight(and please don't come back with the obligatory "anything can happen in the playoffs") ? I hope The Cats realize that they don't play for, or take consolation in, 1 point ties in regulation in order to lose in OT, or a shootout, during the playoffs. They're killin me.

Answered 03/26/09 11:14:34 by George Richards

A: killin me smalls...
