Q: GR, are the panthers gonna name a captain this season? The team is doing great, i think it be nice to have leader.

Answered 11/02/11 16:32:26 by George Richards

A: I think they will. Kevin Dineen says we'll be the first -- yet probably third, fifth or 10th -- to know when he does.

Q: Yonkman is not much of a mobile defenseman, but after seeing his game on Monday, I personally think he will be very useful in the lineup. Buddy hits H A R D and played a good game. What are his chances of taking a spot in this very tight defensive lines?

Answered 10/04/11 14:18:38 by George Richards

A: Sorry I just saw this; obviously Yonks was sent back to San Antonio...I agree, he had a good camp.

Q: How was John McFarland's training camp? What plans do the Panthers have for him this year?

Answered 10/04/11 14:18:03 by George Richards

A: I believe he was sent back to his junior team early in camp. Looked good in rookie camp.

Q: Did Tim Kennedy clear waivers?

Answered 10/04/11 14:16:33 by George Richards

A: yes he did...will he clear re-entry waivers is the big question. that's why he was stuck in AHL for most of last year.

Q: Any news on pre/post game broadcasts over the web? I'd be willing to do it (setup a webcast or something), given the permission to rebroadcast.

Answered 09/21/11 08:44:34 by George Richards

A: Give Randy Moller a call...

Q: Is our new PA announcer really gonna be calling all the games. That was just horrible yesterday, worst called game I have ever heard at any sporting event.

Answered 09/21/11 08:44:18 by George Richards

A: He'll be fine. Relax.

Q: Any idea if the 2 games yesterday wearing those powder blue jerseys count towards the 13 times the panthers have to wear them this season?

Answered 09/21/11 08:43:43 by George Richards

A: They do not.

Q: GR,I know JAY ROKEACH is the new panther PA. Im sure you heard him in both pre-season games (so did I) and personally i think he was aweful! What do you think?

Answered 09/21/11 08:43:22 by George Richards

A: I think he's been doing PA for 40 years and has done ONE hockey game. He has some things to tweak. He'll be fine.

Q: So With All this hype this year around the cats, what drafted rookie or AHL/Juniors players do you think can make a push for a starting roster spot? thoughts on Guds and Huburdeau making the team out of camp? thanks, Go Panthers!

Answered 09/16/11 13:09:57 by George Richards

A: You can almost count on Gudbranson making it; Huberdeau a longer shot, but if he looks like he really belongs, they'll give him a shot. Quinton Howden also has a strong chance as well.

Q: Out of respect for the 43 lives lost on Wednesday, will there be a moment of silence during either the pre-season opener, or the home opener?

Answered 09/10/11 16:44:15 by George Richards

A: That is a great idea; hope so. haven't heard their plans as of yet.

Q: george when are the panthers going to announced that stillman has joined the panthers

Answered 09/10/11 16:43:35 by George Richards

A: They did so on Saturday morning...it's now officially official...

Q: Another question for you...Do you know if Gudbranson will be keeping #44?

Answered 09/10/11 16:43:11 by George Richards

A: I believe so...he's wearing it at rookie camp...

Q: On the 19th for the double header, if they are having hockey day in south florida and are going to be giving autographs, how early do we need to arrive at the BAC?

Answered 09/09/11 16:07:51 by George Richards

A: Will look into that for you. Would guess gates open around 1:30 or 2 with the first game starting at 3.

Q: Hi GR, how are you? i just wanted to get your thoughts on The Panthers Totally Revamped except Weiss,Santo,Booth,Weaver etc etc, team, and you think our chances are to make some dents in the standings? as in.. actually being relevant again.. i think we are and will.

Answered 09/08/11 16:51:14 by George Richards

A: Lets hope they are relevant again. I think with Dale and Mike here, things are definitely looking up and there is a definite change on the attitude around the team and organization. Not having to deal with the Heat for at least half the season is going to help things -- but this team still needs to win. South Florida won't watch them, even if the Heat is off, if they are losing.

Q: George, I like your blogs and I think you are important for the panther community. However your Q&A does not meet panther fans exectations. Your answers rarely answer our questions, are vague and lack information. Can you try a little harder on this one? If you need help because you are busy then get it!

Answered 09/08/11 16:49:43 by George Richards

A: OK

Q: hey george, can shawn matthais come to training camp if he is not signed and also did we make a trade for a center today in case matthais doesn't sign?

Answered 09/08/11 16:49:21 by George Richards

A: I believe he can come to camp because they have tendered him an offer and he is RFA so his options are limited. that was a trade for San Antonio...

Q: John McFarland was the top prospect in Ontario for minor hockey. Florida was able to get him in the second round due to questions about character. How well has McFaland progressed as a professional? Do the Panthers expect him to fulfil his significant promise that he showed as a 15 year old in Canada?

Answered 08/27/11 13:45:10 by George Richards

A: The Panthers really like him a lot...

Q: Are there any plans to broadcast pre/post game shows on CenterICE this season? Or on the web somewhere?

Answered 08/27/11 13:44:50 by George Richards

A: I will check on that for you...I always like the pregame and postgame
