Q: George, I know publicly the Panther brass has stated they are content with who they have at this point, but do you expect the Panthers to make one more signing for the big club prior to camp whether it is He Who Shall Not Be Named or someone else such as new FA Zherdev? Granted, there would have top be mutual interest, but I feel Zherdev would fill the same role Panther fans expect from Lord Tang...I mean He Who Shall Not Be Named. I'm sure you're sick of these questions (especially about You Know Who), but I'm desperate for Panther news. Thanks.

A: I know you are desperate for Panther news. I am desperate to write some. But I'm not going to make stuff up. No one is talking about anything right now. It's very, very quiet. I apologize, although it's not really my fault. But I feel for you. Because I know you feel for me.Submitted by Chris from Boynton Beach
Q: George, Two things: Any updates on the sale of the Panthers? It's my understanding that we're awaiting approval from the shareholders of the prospective new owners... And, who is making the decisions while the sale is pending? Is that causing them to be conservative (no big named free agents), since they're spending someone else's money now? Thanks man...
Answered 08/25/09 15:33:31 by George Richards
A: 1) No update; 2) Randy Sexton is still running things. I think they will still make a minor move or two before camp opens.Submitted by cathy from lighthousepointflorida

Q: Hey George, hope you have enjoyed the summer. Boy is it slow hockeywise down here. So, here are some quick questions for you then...first, when does training camp start for the Panthers? Second, how can it be possible that we still don't have a GM? Is Torrey still looking? It can't take this long....so something must be up.....shed some light for us. I mean, it's not like the team tells us anything, and I'm a season ticket holder.
Answered 08/25/09 15:32:20 by George Richards
A: Camp starts Sept. 12 with the team taking physicals here then taking a plane to Nova Scotia. They'll be gone over a week. As far as the GM thing goes, I have to assume nothing will be done until the sale is completed. And no one knows when that will be.Submitted by devin from florida
Q: Hey George have you heard any new news about alex tanguay. And i was thinking do you think they can sign segei zubov.
Answered 07/29/09 12:38:51 by George Richards
A: Oh, Alex Tanguay...Yes, they can sign Zubov. But do they have any interest? I don't think so...Submitted by cathy from lighthousepointflorida

Q: Hey George,Panthers say they would be around the cap we are 10 million under there is no way they are done.Have you heard of the panthers talking to tanugay or mara if they get both we should be in great shape,But as of now this team makes me sick to my stomach

Q: I have been a season ticket holder since they have been in the National Car Rental Center, and have kept my seats only because they are cheap.......$10 a ticket, man you cant goto the movies for that anymore...and my family enjoys it........ My question is Why can't arena management(Yormark) get it through his head that it is a hockey game not a phonebook? We need to get back to basics!!!! Also since we do not have a full roster, when are the tryouts?
Answered 07/13/09 00:08:36 by George Richards
A: That's what they are counting on...people having a good time...Submitted by DK from Weston, Fl
Q: I guess Cohen is waiting to sell the team. He sure isn't doing anything to improve. What a joke ! Every team gets stronger & we get worse. How does he expect to sell tickets with such a poor product ?
Answered 07/13/09 00:08:20 by George Richards
A: They've made a few moves here and there, and I agree they don't look any better on paper than last year's team...but I don't know if you can blame this on Alan Cohen. He's spent a lot of money based on what his hockey people have told him over the past few years. Guys aren't streaming out of here, they are resigning (with the Bo exception)...Submitted by Caleb from Wellington, FL
Q: Any news on where Eminger will end up? Not looking likely that he'll stay here. The Panthers don't want to go through arbitration.

Q: Hey George, first off Happy 4th!!! I need to ask , is there any reason why I should keep my season tickets to the Florida Panthers? Our defense is weaker, offense isn't much better and I feel like we will make it a solid 10 years without playoffs.Ownership is a joke, management is worse and every team around us has gotten better. Do you have any exciting inside news that would want me to remain a STH?
Answered 07/06/09 01:35:34 by George Richards
A: Listen, I get a free press pass and am at 98 percent of the games. So I am the wrong person to ask whether you should spend your money to attend games in Sunrise. Is it something you enjoy? Do you like going to the games? These are questions you have to answer....sorrySubmitted by DK from Weston, Fl
Q: George, I feel "Duds" received a raw deal in his last stay here. In my opinion he would be a excellent hire. What's your take on "Duds" ?
Answered 07/02/09 16:30:42 by George Richards
A: I like Duds. Milk Duds. Oh, Rick Dudley? I like him too. He'll do a good job in Atlanta.Submitted by Ben from Hamilton - Ontario
Q: hey george - love your work heard that the sale to SPAC might have fallen through (Strachan though so I haven't put too much faith in that) just wondering if there were any updates also wanted to say I thought it was a cheap shot when you said 'guess Ballsillie doesn't care about the hockey fans in Phoenix' or something along those lines - did the Phoenix fans care about the Winnipeg fans when the Jets moved originally?
Answered 07/02/09 16:30:08 by George Richards
A: Strachan might be right on this one...Submitted by Josh from hollywood
Q: with the panthers possibly losing bouwmeester. or in my mind most definetly. they were said to offer him somewhere between 6 and 7 million a year. do you think they turn it around and try and sign a big priced foward? say a marian hossa/havlat/camalleri? and do you have any ideas of what possible free agents they will be inquiring about?
Answered 07/02/09 16:29:54 by George Richards
A: Still waiting on that last part...Submitted by anna from lauderhill, fl
Q: i know he is no longer a panther, but can you give us an update on mike van ryn
Answered 07/02/09 16:29:36 by George Richards
A: Of course. Spoke to Mike the other day. Says his knee is feeling better, his wife just gave birth to their first child (a daughter) and he is chomping at the bit to get back out there. He has a rough season but sounds very optimistic.Submitted by Scott from Plantation
Q: Howdy George. I read your article about Zednik not winning the Masterson award. I don't care what anyone says, Richard should have won it. I know Steve Sullivan made an amazing comeback, but a bad back doesnt compare in my books to almost DYING. I'll never forget that night as I watched it on TV. Scared the hell outta me. Anyway, on another note, I really wish Jay would have let the team know earlier that he didn't want to be here. Why all the mystery? I mean what did it accomplish for him? Was he trying to intentionally screw the team? Anyway, do you think we can get anything of value for him now that everyone knows he'll be free in a couple of weeks?
Answered 07/02/09 16:28:43 by George Richards
A: Well, Jay apparently did tell the team and they did nothing about it. Richard Zednik had a great case, but so did Sullivan...Submitted by vic b from plantation
Q: Could you explain what can happen if the Panthers allow another team to talk to Jay Bouw prior to July 1?Is he obligated to sign with that team and what level of compensation will the Panthers recieve?
Answered 07/02/09 16:28:03 by George Richards
A: Legally, no team aside from the Panthers could talk to Jay's agent until July 1 unless the Panthers traded those rights (which they did).Submitted by Xavier from Kendall from Miami, FL.
Q: Hi George, Do you think the Panthers will be able to get "Anything" for JayBo at this point??
Answered 07/02/09 16:27:23 by George Richards
A: I'm guessing a third round draft pick and the rights to Jordan Leopold (who they won't sign). Sorry I didn't see this earlier X. Thanks for the question.
