Alina Fernández Revuelta

Alina Fernández Revuelta is the author of the autobiography Castro's Daughter: An Exile's Memoir of Cuba, published in 1998. Born in Havana, she escaped from Cuba to Spain in 1993 by using fake travel documents and dressing like a tourist. As a young woman she first enrolled at the University of Havana to study medicine, then she switched her interests to a diplomatic career and was a model for three years for a Cuban fashion company, La Maison.

She now lives in South Florida, has a nightly radio show on WQBA-1140 AM and is a commentator on Spanish-language television. She writes about Cuba and other issues of interest every other Sunday for the opinion page of The Miami Herald.
