Not a cool idea

Our president thinks it is a great idea to give some $200 million of our tax dollars to FPL so it can find new ways to monitor how we use electricity. The claim is that it would reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by 575,000 tons over 30 years.

This beats most of the silly claims I have heard that by spending a bag full of our money we are going to save something.

I'll bet FPL wants these meters to lay off their meter readers.

Further, I'll bet that down the road FPL will use the data collected by these smart meters as justification for a rate increase.

Our politicians are really getting creative on dumb ways to spend our money while many folks are just squeezing by.
