As a child in the 1950s, I played in the neighborhood streets of Coconut Grove to the sound of the spray plane. I remember that as the fog moved toward us, the kids yelling, “Get in the house!”
I would grab my little brother and run for safety. Even as children, we knew the mosquito spray was toxic. Research and common sense should dictate that the adding of toxic chemicals to our landscape, water and air defeats the notion of an intelligent solution in the name of good health.
