Re the July 8 article “Miami Beach to weigh choices for SoBe streetcar”: I get that Mayor Philip Levine wishes to get this accomplished while in office, but give me a break!
Can anyone imagine 106-foot street cars trying to turn on “existing travel lanes?”
I’m not sure about the power source being underground, but it seems counter-intuitive with our city’s old infrastructure.
So Levine can claim this feather in his cap, the city is also rushing ahead, despite declining federal funds available for this project.
So I guess taxpayers can foot the bill for this ambitious gentleman’s next political aspiration.
