Re the Jan. 19 editorial, Artful departure: Thom Collins did not do the right thing. Accepting $20 million over 10 years and a questionable art collection deprived the taxpayers and the city of their own museum. We should be able to visit the MAM, not the PAMM.
Together with the name, we lost truly important works of art because donations were withdrawn in protest. Thanks to the former MAM director Terence Riley for the fabulous building, but no thanks to Collins for depriving us of a proper name for our museum.
