For more than 10 years, my husband and I have lived and worked in North Beach. We are proud of our neighborhood and its unique character and love supporting it. But North Beach doesn’t have to stay the same forever. Some change can be a good thing.
We need responsible development that takes into account the neighborhood’s personality while helping it flourish with cafes and restaurants.
Last November, I voted against legislation that would help increase density in Ocean Terrace, fearing it would create too much traffic and the building would be too tall. Today, I know that’s not the case. In fact, the Ocean Terrace Redevelopment Plan will help grow pedestrian activity and preserve the area’s unique character, while making it a destination for residents.
On May 11, I‘m urging commissioners to approve Ocean Terrace’s height change, because I now know it will make this stretch of North Beach enjoyable and alive for the neighborhood people.
Never miss a local story.
