Former Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Scott Silverman is correct about needing a new courthouse in downtown Miami.
His reasoning makes sense. He just left out the best reason: The courthouse is a “sick building.” If OSHA had been called in, that building would have been deemed unsafe and closed long ago.
Employees go home each night with symptoms of mold exposure, but are afraid to report their problems. In 2008, Magistrate Judge Theodore Klein died believing that he had been sickened from similar mold exposure in the federal courthouse.
Close the Dade County Courthouse — now.
