I read Miami Herald Editor Aminda Marqués Gonzalez’s April 24 column, Reporting a source of pride and reform. Her comments were “spot on.”
I am sorry that Miami Herald writers did not win a Pulitzer this year, deserving as they were. The Herald is an outstanding newspaper and its investigative journalism is beyond comparison.
I do not even want to think about South Florida in particular and the state in general without its staff poking its nose where it belongs but is not welcome. Back in my professorial days, I used to tell my students that if they read a quality newspaper daily, then they would be well educated. The Herald more than meets that criteria.
