Re Sheldon Anderson’s March 14 Opinion article, For a decade, Cleveland Orchestra has proudly called Miami home: I have been a subscriber to the Cleveland Orchestra Miami’s series of performances almost from the beginning and agree with Anderson’s assessment of the excellence of its concerts and the the benefits of its outreach program.
But having the Cleveland here for three or four performances a year is not the same as having a permanent resident orchestra. Rather than having the Cleveland here on a part-time basis, could we have kept the Florida Philharmonic on a full-time basis? I would have preferred keeping alive our own Florida orchestra.
