Re Kathleen Parker’s Feb. 12 column, Feminism’s old guard vs. power of go-girl generation: When I saw the results of the New Hampshire primaries, I became angry. I couldn’t understand why young Democratic women didn’t support Hillary Clinton. They don’t understand that if a Republican is elected president:
▪ Their chance for pay equity will be postponed for a long time.
▪ Roe vs. Wade would be placed in jeopardy because of the potential possibility of two to three Supreme Court appointments.
▪ A Republican president would most likely not veto laws restricting a woman’s right to choose.
Never miss a local story.
▪ It would be easy to lose the gains women have made because of the struggles of the “old guard.”
These young women also don’t understand the importance of the symbolism of electing a woman to the most powerful office in the world. If Bernie Sanders were to get the nomination, the Republican machine would destroy him.
