Until developers are given ample opportunities to profit, they will continue to destroy what should be modestly developed tourist-attracting neighborhoods. This is what happened in Sunny Isles Beach.
As for Wynwood, given the narrow and limiting street grid, the new buildings built should be no taller than five stories and Northwest Fifth Avenue should be redeveloped into an arts and crafts pedestrian mall not unlike Lincoln Road.
This would require the street grid to be modified so that no unintended dead-end streets are created.
