I was one of those trapped in traffic on Nov. 16 for two and a half hours for what should have been a 20-minute drive to work.
Only the authorities involved are in a position to decide whether a crime scene should be closed to the public. I would never second-guess them. However, why were entrance ramps left open into a closed road as late as 7 a.m.? And, why was there no police presence at the exit ramps and into town to assist the flow of traffic?
The entire time I saw four officers, all of whom were at the 103 Street entrance ramp. With so many frustrated drivers in such close proximity for such a long time, it is a miracle that there were no further conflicts and injuries. Perhaps Miami drivers should be commended.
