I applaud the Nov. 17 editorial, There had to be a better way, regarding the horrendous 10-hour traffic backup on Interstate 95 because of a double homicide. It has always boggled my mind that often when there is an incident on the roadway, there appear to be too many official onlookers doing nothing.
When something like this happens, a car and an officer should be sent back to the last exit before the jam-up and reroute traffic to a different direction.
It is not just on I-95. I’ve seen this on local streets where there is no attempt to stem the traffic arriving at the bottleneck.
Thank you for calling it like it is.
