Why are we even discussing whether transgenders should have all the rights of other citizens at a Miami-Dade Commission meeting?
They are, first and foremost, people and they should be given respect and treated equally and with dignity.
The Constitution is there to heal the pain of the single individual, it is not open for a majority vote. And it is a guarantee, not an option or a political football.
And yes, the opposition has every right to thump their Bibles, but please, if they want a majority opinion then list all the verses that espouse love and tolerance and the most needy. They should walk the walk.
Parents out there should call their commissioners and implore them to do the right thing, politics aside.
