While the nation was focused on the South Carolina shooting, the House of Representatives passed fast track for the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
I’m in awe that our Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz voted Yes for the secretive deal that abolishes American jobs and gives corporations new powers that would infringe on national authority. I urge Sens. Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson to reconsider their views for the sake of our nation, which was founded on basic principles including popular sovereignty — the people are the final source of government authority.
I ask President Obama to release the full text of TPP and give the American people the chance to voice their opinions. Whether TPP is good or not, we don’t know, because we don’t have the power to know.
