Something is terribly wrong when one person — House Speaker Steve Crisafulli — can use a temper tantrum to end the annual legislative session. So many bills that were critical to the state were left unresolved.
This is far too much power for one person, and Gov. Rick Scott needs to address this quickly. We didn’t elect these people to the House and Senate to play games with our lives. As taxpayers, we are the losers. To suddenly adjourn three days early because the speaker decided to pick up his marbles and go home is unacceptable in a democratic process.
Elected leaders must grow up and do the job they are paid to do: Represent the taxpayers of Florida in the best interests of our health, welfare and environment.
