Re the Aug. 28 obituary Thomas Wyroba, 64, beloved teacher at Miami’s New World of the Arts.

I was fortunate to have had Mr. Wyroba as my art teacher in 1978 at Miami Coral Park Senior High. Mr. Wyroba brought a breath of fresh air to the class with his stories and vision.

I remember him walking around the class giving positive critiques to his students, who hung onto his every word. Mr. Wyroba was a unique teacher who always wore sandals and jeans to class.

His passing leaves a huge void in the art world and to his past art students.

He was an inspiration to me personally, and I will never forget him.

Jacqueline Gutstein,
