State leadership

I just read Florida State Sen. Dwight Bullard's Aug. 22 column: The Silence from our state leaders. #RIGHTON.

I've lived, worked and retired in Miami for over thirty years. Miami is ripe for the very actions that have propelled Ferguson into this global spotlight.

Florida has been here already. Leadership is born not bought. The atmosphere in Florida is like Ferguson, but our “leaders” never bother to hold the pertinent conversations or look for solutions. Some communities don’t have money to buy leadership so we end up with a lifeless body in the street. Real leadership is proactive and that comes from the heart and soul.
